The incident took place in Hartford just before 11 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, in the area of Winter Street.
Hartford Police officers responded to the area of Brook Street at Winter Street for two ShotSpotter notifications. Upon arrival, two victims of gunfire were located in the area of 13 Winter St., said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.
One victim, identified as Brian Evans. age 23, of Hartford, was unresponsive on the scene and responding officers began life-saving measures until the arrival of EMS, Boisvert said.
He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, he added.
The second victim, a man in his 30s, was also transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
While still on scene, a third victim, a male in his 20s, arrived privately at an area hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound. He is currently listed in critical condition, Boisvert said.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
